The economic crisis that has ensued from the health crisis has led to a 140% increase in food aid requests. People who had never before been affected by economic insecurity were the first victims of lockdown living hand-to-mouth. Social supermarkets, members of the ANDES French national association for development of this type of shop, provide assistance on several levels (food, health and social). The EDF Foundation has committed financial support to the trial so that these shops will have the tools to become a lasting feature.
