Michel de Broin - Shared Propulsion Car
3 min

ENVISIONING

Art prompts reflection, especially when it comes to the environment. Michel De Broin’s Shared Propulsion Car is powered by pedalling. The French Canadian artist has removed all superfluous parts from the vehicle to reduce its weight. The passengers become the power behind the machine, reaching a maximum speed of 10 mph. This creation takes us back to our childhood but, more importantly, represents the human driving force against heavily-polluting internal combustion engines. Although it is intended to be humorous, the creation has caused problems for its owner: Michel De Broin and his friends were arrested in the middle of Toronto.
