ENVISIONING

Art does not build the world we live in, but it does give shape to what's possible. Eco-conscious artists do not give the illusion that we can save the world but try to instil virtuous behaviour in others. One such artist is Nicole Dextras, whose plant-based displays, dresses and other designs challenge fashion, consumerism and urbanism. This Canadian artist creates clothes from plants stripped down to their very fibre, transforming them. The characters she dresses stem from her fascination with mythology. For the exhibition, Nicole Dextras invites us to share in the joyous occasion of marriage through nature: a wedding dress reminiscent of spring.
